You will notice that the top toolbar, as well as having the text box and edit functions for managing your mind map on the left, have various other buttons. The middle group of four buttons allows you to control aspects on the map appearance.
The first two buttons allow you to control the spread of the map. This is the distance between nodes, and you have seven options in total with the default as 0 and up to +3 increased spread or -3 reduced spread. The third and fourth button allow you control the rotation of the map. You can rotate the map either clockwise or anti-clockwise in 30 degree increments to find a layout that looks visually appealing and best suits your map.
