We've just created a page for Wisdomap on Facebook. You can become a 'fan' and receive updates about the application.
If you like using Wisdomap please help us spread the word and become a fan of Wisdomap on Facebook by clicking here.

We've tweaked the Wisdomap core to make the text in mind map nodes bolder. This increases the visual impact of mindmaps, and more importantly significantly increases readability, especially in classroom situations where mind maps are displayed on projectors or digital whiteboards.
If you would prefer less bold text in your mind maps, you can revert to the older style using the "use lighter text" option in the preferences section on the manage account page.

You can now add videos from the BBC news website as well as from YouTube to the media section of nodes in your mind map.
Simply copy and paste the URL of the news page which has the video embedded and Wisdomap will automatically locate the article, retrieve a thumbnail of the video and attach it to the node.

We've redesigned the 'manage account' page to make it really easy to upgrade your account subscription level. The crashing pound has brought the dollar prices for Wisdomap accounts right down, making it an excellent time for US users to upgrade their accounts!
The new manage account page also has a few new preference settings to tweak how Wisdomap works for you. We aim to add to these in the future.
Today we released a minor update with a range of compatibility fixes.

We've added a long overdue cut and paste function which allows you to move nodes around the map.
It can be accessed using the buttons in the top toolbar (show in the image above) or using the keyboard by pressing X to cut and V to paste.
A reminder that the help centre is a very useful resource for those who want to find answers to any questions about using the application they might have, or simple for those who want to find tips and tricks they weren't aware of.
Since launching the help centre has grown and evolved significantly as we have added new content and updated it to reflect improvements in the application. It will of course continue to improve as we continue development.

We've added a small but useful feature - the ability to fix a new default viewpoint for your mind map.
This allows you to adjust for instances where your mind map naturally builds outwards a little more in certain directions. Using the crosshair in the top toolbar, you can find and fix a viewpoint that makes your mind map look great, and in the case of larger mind maps, has the maximum number of nodes visible.
On an unrelated note, we've fixed some reliability issues with the feature request tool. If you sent us an email and we didn't get back to you, this means we didn't get it! If you still want to get in touch, please resend your message.
Since launching three months ago we have received a wide and encouraging range of user feedback. We have been working hard to improve on our weak points, while retaining the simplicity and visual appeal that we believe makes Wisdomap a unique and powerful tool. In the last few days we have launched a significant application update. Changes include:
As ever, Wisdomap is in active development and we welcome all feedback on the application refresh.
We're working on quite a significant update to the Wisdomap application and interface. The update has been developed in response to the wide range of feedback that we have received since launching, and will address issues from general concept to user interface.
It should also significantly improve performance, addressing concerns about some high usage of system resources in the application at the moment (particularly on Windows). Keep your eyes out for the changes over the next week or so.
